Vetark have been involved in working with aquarium fish and treating disease for over 30 years. Our MD has been the veterinary adviser to some of the largest UK aquaria. We are beginning here to assemble some selected products we trust to 'do the job'.
Vetark worked with Fiona Macdonald MRCVS of Fish Treatment Ltd to bring their praziquantel based product Fluke Solve to the aquarist and pondkeeper. It is well used by many of the public aquaria in the UK now and made by us in our GMP facilities. Treatment of gill flukes and skin flukes using 'serious' pharmaceuticals rather than ye-olde remedies has enabled the aquarist to really control.
Wild caught fish often carry a parasite burden which requires the use of Fluke Solve, and captive bred discus (Symphysodon spp) still often carry tapeworms which need treatment with Fluke Solve (Fluke-Solve).
The Small Animal Exemption Scheme has enabled us to develop Fluke Solve in its current formulation. It has proved very safe and effective across a vast range of species.
